In the same week Transport for London (TfL) announced a consultation on withdrawing the 415 bus route, they have also announced a reduction in the frequency of the P13 service, which also runs through the Tulse Hill gyratory.
Currently, the P13 service operates every 15 minutes from Monday to Saturday during the day. It will now operate every 20 minutes during those times. Brixton Buzz reports that “TfL says this adjustment reflects current and expected demand”.
The change will come into effect tomorrow, Saturday 10th October. There will be no changes to evening and Sunday services, where frequency will remain at a bus every 20 minutes.
The P13 route runs from Streatham Bus Station to New Cross Gate Sainsbury’s via Tulse Hill, with an eastbound stop at Tulse Hill Hotel and a westbound stop at Tulse Hill station.
It is the only service to run on the section of the South Circular between Tulse Hill and Lordship Lane, providing access to West Dulwich Station, Belair Park, Dulwich Park, and stops near the Horniman Museum.
A new Superloop service (SL15) is due to begin next year and will operate along that section of the route; a start date for that service is yet to be announced. While this should mitigate the reduction in service, it’s a limited-stop service and will only stop at West Dulwich station on that section of the South Circular.
The westbound service also serves both Streatham Hill and Streatham station.
