Yesterday, the Mayor of London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner, Will Norman, came to the Tulse Hill gyratory with officers from Lambeth Council and City Hall, meeting local representatives including Station to Station, Norwood Forum and members of the Transform Tulse Hill steering group.

During the walkabout, we discussed the safety concerns of the gyratory for all road users particularly pedestrians and cyclists. A particularly sobering statistic presented was that the likelihood of being killed in a road traffic accident in London is greater than being murdered. The statistics for 2024 show there were 110 fatalities on our roads compared to 109 homicides demonstrating the significant safety risks on our roads.

There was agreement that the location needs to be made safer and better – we will continue to support the residents and businesses who want to see Tulse Hill safer for all.
