Local MPs add their support to our campaign

On Saturday, we gathered together in Tulse Hill to meet with like-minded residents to hold a photo opportunity to promote our campaign.

Also in attendance were local MP’s Helen Hayes and Bell Ribeiro-Addy, as well as London Assembly Member Caroline Russell, who met with members of our Steering Group to walk around the Tulse Hill gyratory and promised to press the Mayor of London and Will Norman, London’s Walking & Cycling Commissioner, for action to make the gyratory safer for everyone who uses it.

All three politicians spoke at the event to express their support. We were also sent a message of support from Steve Reid, MP for Streatham and North Croydon, who was unable to attend.

Bell Ribeiro-Addy, MP for Clapham & Brixton Hill, said, “The Tulse Hill Gyratory is outdated and unsafe, posing a continued risk to pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike — with tragic consequences in recent years. I was proud to stand with residents over the weekend to campaign for TfL funding to upgrade roads, save lives, and reduce air pollution.”

Commenting on some recent safety measures implemented by Transport for London (TfL) Helen Hayes, MP for Dulwich and West Norwood, said “The Tulse Hill gyratory isn’t safe for pedestrians, cyclists or motorists. The short term measures that TfL have introduced have made some difference but much greater change is needed to transform Tulse Hill and we will keep campaigning until it is delivered.”
